MY PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
BSc (Hons) Food Science (2:1), MSc Environmental Health (Distinction), CIEH Registered Environmental Health Officer
​I started the company and have worked in the field of food safety since graduating from Reading University with a BSc in Food Science in 2004. This included the study of nutrition, food chemistry, food microbiology, food labelling, new product development and quality assurance.
I have worked as a Technical Manager at a food manufacturer where I was responsible for auditing to the SALSA standard, implementation of HACCP, for writing product specifications and for food labelling. I have also held various posts in Quality Assurance and Quality Control including working for several flavouring companies.
Having completed my masters in Environmental Health, my dissertation in the control of norovirus outbreaks on cruise ships was published in the Environmental Health News magazine & the Institute of Food Science and Technology journal. I have worked in a Local Authority in order to complete my Portfolio of Professional Practice, carrying out many inspections of food premises including higher risk approved premises.
I am registered with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH). CIEH registration means qualification with an accredited BSc or MSc degree in Environmental Health, completion of a Portfolio of Professional Practice within a Local Authority and completion of professional examinations at the CIEH in London; including a professional interview​ and a written examination.
